Carina Cygnus - Carina-Sagittarius Spiral Arm
Reality: Our location in the Milky Way galaxy is roughly half way in towards the centre. We are essentially in the middle of the galaxy on a minor spiral arm called the Orion arm or Orion spur between the Sagittarius and Perseus arms. The galactic centre estimated location range is from 24,000 to 28,000 light years from earth. We are about 30,000 lightyears from the edge of the galaxy.
What affected people remember: We were on the outskirts of the galaxy on the main Sagittarius arm or spur of the galaxy. We were not on a minor spiral arm like the Orion spur. It was thought that being on the outskirts of the galaxy was necessary for life to have been able to evolve.

In the series COSMOS, narrated by Carl Sagan (world-renowned astronomer, cosmologist, astrophysicist and astrobiologist), we are being taken on a journey through space towards our home. The episode is about a journey to where we are in the universe, describing the galaxy on our journey in. It is the very specific reason for the start of the series. In it, Carl Sagan clearly states our location in the galaxy as the video depicts us cruising in towards the galaxy in what appears to be a space fairing ship. “This is the home galaxy of the human species. In the obscure backwaters of the Carina-Cygnus (Carina-Sagittarius) spiral arm, we humans have evolved consciousness and some measure of understanding".

Carl Sagan – Sagittarius arm – Outskirts of the galaxy:
On Startalk episode 4 at 37:55 (on Netflix) Neil Tyson says "From Manhattan NYC, North America..." and continues all the way to the... "Sagittarius Arm".
Neil DeGrasse Tyson – Sagittarius arm:
NASA themselves from a 2016 article:
imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/features/cosmic/milkyway_info.html
"The Sun does not lie near the center of our Galaxy. It lies about 8 kpc from the center on what is known as the Sagittarius arm of the Milky Way."

Shifter (Admin): This ME affects me personally, it was common knowledge to anyone into astronomy that we were on the outskirts of the galaxy. Neil DeGrasse Tyson remembers it exactly as I do, Carl Sagan too. Not so long ago I was working on creating a video about the mathematics of the universe, galaxy and solar system. “The heavens” are my forte. I've known that we were on the outskirts of the Milky Way galaxy in the Sagittarius arm for many years. Too far out and stars would be too dim to see, not enough elements for complex life to form, etc. Too far in and the dense population of stars would interfere with planetary orbits within our solar system. This was a prime point made in the book “Rare Earth: Why complex life is Uncommon in the universe”. This was an important fact for me when I was modifying Drake's equation to calculate number of potential habitable planets in the known universe. I felt that the equation was old and needed to be updated to account for all the new exo-planets that were being discovered. This point had also been used in reverse in a religious booklet I read using the same argument about us being on the outskirts of the galaxy in the Sagittarius arm, however, this booklet argued that our specific location on the outskirts was intentional because life could not exist and be maintained anywhere else due to how the dense population of stars further in would interfere with planetary orbits within our solar system etc.

Comment: "Aren't we supposed to originally be a part of the Dwarf Galaxy Sagittarius that's currently being merged with the larger Milky Way Galaxy, Last I checked were supposed to be on the outskirts (Sagittarius arm some 50,000 ly from the center of the Milky Way). This is also why we see the majority of the Milky Way vertically above us at night instead of horizontally I kno this because I'm a Sagittarius and I was very intrigued by these Facts. Jus checked the NASA page, now it says we're in the Orion Spur, fudgin news to me SMH. Oh and now My horoscope dates are some Ophicius constellation WHAT THE FUDGE EVER MAN ,, fudgin world man”

Before they seemed dimmer and further away just a couple years ago, now I go out and they seem really bright and close. Also, I used to look up those stars different lengths from Earth, they used to say something like 8,000 light years or so give or take(ish) now they say like 445 light years....... Wth!!!!”

It was from an Encyclopedia that my mom had bought me when I was around 12 years old. I specifically remember looking at the picture where it shows where we are in the milky way and thinking to myself "man, if we were just a little further out we would be outside the milky way" however, when i checked the same book now the picture shows the earth way more to the center of the galaxy than I remember seeing.”

Comment: “I shrug off a lot of this mandela effect stuff, but this one gets me every now and again and freaks me out. I'm going to maybe bring the question up to my uncle the next time I see him querying exactly which arm of the milky way galaxy we're in to see what he says as he extensively self-studies astronomy and it is a very big interest of his. I'll then maybe show him what Sagan and Tyson have BOTH said about this and then let him know that we're actually and have always been on the Orion arm and see what he has to say.”

Comment: “In my school days, I was praised for my general knowledge, so much so that I was encouraged to partake in provincial as well as national quiz's, and I placed top 3 each time. The common questions about space was that of star clusters as well as constellations, where we are situated etc.
So, did everybody lie to me, or was everybody incorrect to rightly say we were situated on the outskirts of the Milky Way Galaxy, on the Sagittarius Arm. We are now on the Orion Spur, about halfway to the center of the Milky Way.
There are some people aware of why and how a few of us were moved on a soul level to here, and we are grateful for that.
The radiation (has nothing to do with a sun cycle) and frequency of the Earth are at an unprecedented level, furthermore evidence that we have indeed moved more toward the center, which on a spiritual level and basis means movement towards a higher state of consciousness, or vibration.”
